A letter from the President

Spring break is almost upon us! It’s hard to believe that the semester’s going so fast! I, for one, can’t wait to go on a well-deserved vacation. In case you haven’t noticed, UHRA has already sponsored a plethora of events including: the Superbowl Party, Valentine’s cookie-grams, the Midnight Breakfast Study Break, and tickets to see final round of Ultraviolet Live—the all-school talent competition, among other things.

In the coming weeks, we have a great many other things in store for you. Be on the lookout for events such as a trip to The Passion of the Christ, a trip to an Ethiopian Restaurant, a trip to Chipotle—a new restaurant on St. Mark’s—a trip to Coldstone Creamery, and even a ballroom dance lesson here at U-Hall.

We are also working towards our goal of $1000 towards Relay for Life, an event sponsored by Inter-Residence Hall Council, the umbrella hall government, with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. In other community service-related news, while most of us are on vacation over spring break, we are helping to send two U-Hall residents to build houses with Habitats for Humanity.

As always, we want your participation and your feedback! Let us know what you want to see as programming. Tell your floor representative or your RA about the kinds of activities and facilities changes you want to see. Facilities/Programming Committee meetings are on Thursdays at 6 p.m. in the C-Level Lounge, where you will also find Community Service Committee meetings on Sundays at 7 p.m. Or find out more about us in general; simply come join us on Mondays at 9:30 p.m. in the C-Level Lounge or visit our website, http://uhra.no-ip.com.

All the best,

Zontee Hou
UHRA President
